Bio

R.J. was born in Los Angeles, CA and as a child began singing at age six with his older sister as his mentor. In middle school at age ten, R.J. entered his first talent show and won first place. From that day forward he knew music and entertainment would be his calling.

Performing in numerous competitions with popular local bands, R.J. developed his stage presence in front of crowds as large as 19,000 people at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.  He was also a contestant on American Idol season 7 where he placed in the top 50 for that show.

As a songwriter R.J. can be considered as nothing short of amazing. He doesn’t write down lyrics at all. He listens to musical tracks and in a matter of minutes goes directly in the recording both and starts singing incredible melodies and words… it is the most amazing process to witness.

Currently R.J. has several songs that were released internationally featuring megastars Pitbull and Flo Rida. His Debut single entitled “U Know It Ain’t Love” became a Top 10 hit in Japan and Europe. The single “Live 4 and Die 4” also featuring Pitbull received major club and radio airplay   While the single “Baby It’s The Last Time” featuring Flo Rida and Qwote is still buzzing on air and in the clubs overseas. Combined the music videos for these songs have been viewed by more than 27 million You Tube fans.

R.J’s incredible vocal range & sound can be compared to the likes of the late great King of Pop “Michael Jackson” and current chart topper Neo. Although he has a style all his own RJ has drawn influence from artists such as Usher, R. Kelly & Beyoncé.

R.J. is now working with Genius Music on a soon to be completed album project entitled “2 Letters” the first single and music video “Tattoo” is ready for release.
